Gordon Jopling Food Ingredients have an exciting new ingredient
to offer food manufacturers. Avocado oil is a premium, cold pressed,
extra virgin oil extracted from the first pressing of avocado flesh.
It is completely natural and unrefined.
The avocados are allowed to develop on the tree for up to 18 months.
They are then harvested and graded before being carefully matured
in ripening houses. Once ready, the fruit has the skin and seed
removed before milling and separation of the oil from the pulp.
This is then filtered and packed into 20 litre drums.

Vibrant green in colour, avocado oil is smooth with a soft nutty
flavour and a subtle avocado aroma that enhances, without overpowering
the natural flavour of food.
Throughout New Zealand
and Australia, the oil is widely available through specialist retailers.
In the UK both J Sainsbury and Tesco now offer the product in their
premium oils selection.
Chefs are using avocado oil not only because of its flavour and
colour but also because of its unique cooking properties. Avocado
oil is very versatile and has a much higher smoke point than other
cooking oils, 255§C compared to 208§C for olive oil, making it ideal
for stir-frys and searing. Heating cooking oil beyond its smoke
point causes the oil to breakdown and smoke, which can ruin the
flavour of food. Other applications include dipping, baking, dressings,
mayonnaise and sauces.
People are choosing avocado oil as an alternative to traditional
cooking oils because it is so good for you. It is low in saturated
fats, high in monounsaturated fats and completely cholesterol free.
Avocado oil is also very rich in beta-sitosterol, a plant sterol
that may assist with lowering cholesterol.
Gordon Jopling not only offer pure avocado oil but also a selection
of naturally infused oils, including garlic, chilli and lemon.
